Meet the Maker: Kim's Farmacy

Kim’s Farmacy merges Kim Simpson’s love of natural health, healing, gardening, and delicious food. She creates ‘Grow Your Own’ Microgreens and Wheatgrass Kits using organic seeds, soil, and food grade growing supplies. Microgreens are baby plants, as well as powerful superfoods that you harvest in 7-10 days from sowing (indoors, in a bright location). Microgreens can be used in sandwiches, soups, salads, smoothies, or as a garnish to dress your plate up like a gourmet chef!

Kim was born and raised in Austin (a 6th generation Austinite) and grew up gardening with her family. Gardening has been a font of healing and joy for her throughout her life. She earned a B.S. in Geography: Resource and Environmental Studies, with a minor in Horticulture. In her earlier years, she worked in garden nurseries where she learned about the importance of working with nature and using organic principles to support our fragile ecosystem.

Illness in her family and her own health issues, prompted Kim to learn more about the healthful properties of microgreens and benefits of incorporating them as part of a healthy diet. She soon began growing microgreens for herself, her family, and friends, and put her energy into creating a business that allows her to share these incredibly healing plants with her community and the world at large.
